Graveside Service for Kenneth Lee Best, age 97, of Enid, will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born on February 25, 1922 to George and Ollie Best in Wakita, OK and passed away in Broken Arrow, OK on October 11, 2019 in Broken Arrow, OK. He graduated from Gore Consolidated High School in rural Jefferson, OK.

Kenneth and Vera Best were united in marriage on March 18, 1944. He worked at the Boeing Aircraft Co in Wichita, KS before serving in the U S Army during WWII, joining the 96th Infantry Division in Oklahoma in April 1945. He received a Purple Heart during that conflict.

Kenneth was a farmer/rancher for 65 years in the Wakita community, before moving to Enid. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Enid Garden Club and the New Hope Methodist Church of Enid.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Best and his wife Sandra of Broken Arrow, OK; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
