KGWA Adds FM Signal

ENID, OK - Williams Broadcasting Company announced today that radio station KGWA has added an FM frequency to carry its programming. In addition to the traditional 960 AM, the station’s programming can now be heard on 100.9 FM in the Enid area.
-
Station General Paul Johnson said, “Periodically, the FCC opens unoccupied FM frequencies for the rebroadcast of AM radio stations. It’s an effort to make these stations more accessible to today’s audience.” He continued, “Our group applied for one of these frequencies in 2018, was approved, and have now completed construction.”
-
“We are thrilled to have Alan Clepper’s local morning show, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Oklahoma University athletics, and all of the other news, talk, weather, and sports in which KGWA excels, right in the middle of the FM dial. All the programming will now be accessible to those listeners who exclusively use FM. The signal will cover Enid and the greater part of Garfield County.”
-
“We are simulcasting,” added Johnson, “because the FCC only allows the rebroadcast of existing programming with this type of license. We can’t create a new station. If FM is a more convenient choice for someone, they now have an option.”
-
KGWA AM and FM, along with KOFM-FM are owned and operated by Enid based Williams Broadcasting Company.
