HENNESSEY, OK - Prairie Quilt, a quilt shop in Hennessey, Oklahoma, has been chosen as one of the top 10 quilt shops from across North America to be featured in the Fall / Winter 2019 issue of Quilt Sampler® magazine, published by Better Homes & Gardens.

Randa Parrish submitted her application last fall. “When I received the official phone call, I was in shock. They called me in December, and I had to keep the news quiet until they unveiled the chosen shops in May at Quilt Market in Kansas City. It was difficult to do so. This is the highest honor in the sewing and quilting industry, so to be chosen is a wonderful feeling.”

To apply, quilt shop owners submit a detailed application on their history, business promotions, charitable work, teaching schedules, and design philosophies. A panel of quilt experts, spearheaded by the American Patchwork & Quilting® staff, reviews the applications to select the 10 shops.

On Friday, August 23, Prairie Quilt will be holding a party to celebrate the release of the magazine. The first 50 customers on the day of the party will receive a complimentary signed copy of the magazine. “We will have cake, demonstrations and special sales for our customers throughout the entire day,” Parrish said. “We want this to be a celebration for them as well.”

Prairie Quilt and the other nine chosen shops were photographed and interviewed by a team from Quilt Sampler for a multi page profile that will appear in the magazine. This issue will be available on newsstands on August 23, 2019. Quilt Sampler, published twice a year, has been profiling North America’s top quilt shops since 1995. Nearly 3,000 quilt shops were eligible for this year’s honor.
