Tompkins Stepping Down As Main Street Director

ENID, OK - After 7 dedicated years, Kelly Tompkins is stepping down as the Executive Director of Main Street Enid. She is excited to pursue new ventures in marketing, placemaking and mural painting that create involvement and connectivity through her business, Hive Appeal.
-
As the Director of Main Street Enid, Kelly's efforts, along with staff, board members, partners and volunteers, have advanced the revitalization of downtown Enid since 2012 through marketing, design, events, creative placemaking, community partnerships, public art and historic preservation.
-
Tompkins helped Main Street Enid win 15 statewide awards, including Best Creative Fundraising Effort (two), Outstanding Image Promotion (three), Best Placemaking Project, Best Sustainable Design Project, Premier Special Event (two), Community of the Year in 2016, and Kelly won the Oklahoma Main Street Director of the Year award in 2015.
-
Tompkins said, "Downtown Enid has seen many changes and fun excitement over the last 7 years! Main Street Enid helps create the atmosphere for business success and brings thousands of people downtown each year through a dozen community events. There has been over $31 million in PRIVATE funds have been reinvested in downtown Enid since 2012. That does NOT include any public improvements that the City or County have done. This is an incredible testament to the confidence our local businesses have in the heart of our community."
-
Thinking back over the last 7 years, Tompkins said, "We have done a multitude of creative projects to help people connect with our historic district. Our mural program has resulted in 4 pieces downtown since 2015, and has inspired 3 more downtown so far. This has visually contributed to the district that is known for its arts & entertainment venues and opportunities."
-
As the owner of Hive Appeal, Kelly and her husband help places appeal to more people with marketing, consulting, and murals. They love getting people involved and helping them be part of their community. You can learn more about her new venture at www.hiveappeal.com.
-
"Ty and I will be doing MORE of the things that create involvement and connectivity, such as marketing, placemaking projects and mural painting in Enid and elsewhere through our business, Hive Appeal," Tompkins said.
-
She also stated, "We are also building a non-profit directory for Enid, to help people and businesses connect with more nonprofit organizations at www.BeeTheCommunity.com."
-
Tompkins encourages everyone to get involved. She said, "Downtown Enid is about to "level up" again, and I hope more people join forces with Main Street Enid to make a bigger difference in our community!"
