The funeral service for Joseph D. Armstrong Sr., 78 year-old Enid resident will be May 3rd at 10:30am in
Grace Ministries Church. Pastor Wade Bland will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in
Tulsa under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Joe was born September 19, 1940 in Tulsa to J.C. and Dolly (Hancock) Armstrong and died Friday, April
26, 2019 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He attended Tulsa schools and graduated
from Tulsa Central High School with the class of 1958. He then attended The University of Tulsa on a full football scholarship. Joe later enlisted in the United States Air Force. Joe was stationed at Altus Air Force Base and this is where he met the love of his life Louise Roberson. On December 8, 1963 the couple were wed. They made Enid their home in 1970 where they raised two children.

In 1969 Joe started the Armstrong Agency with offices in Oklahoma City and Enid. He continued to own
and operate the business along with his son, Joey up until his death. He was a member of Grace
Ministries.

Joe enjoyed golfing, racing his stock cars, but mostly spending time with his family, especially his
grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in all sports and school activities, no matter the location. Joe always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He will be sorely missed by all.

He is survived by his daughter Kelly Stewart and husband Chuck, his son, Joey Armstrong and wife
Mary, all of Enid. 5 grandchildren, Joey and fiance Kylee, Austin, Ashton, Ethan, and Ellie Grace. One brother, Greg Armstrong of Tulsa, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving is Donna Ragsdale, longtime family friend, confidant and employee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Louise “Lou”, and one sister Norma Jean
Worth.
