Horace Howard Williams

A celebration of life for Horace Williams, 102, of Enid will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans chapel with Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A lunch for family and friends will be held following the burial at Spring Hill Suites. Visitation will be Friday, April 26 from 5:00-7:00p.m., at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Horace was born on the family farm southwest of Douglas on May 3, 1916, to E.H. and Cora Agnes Williams and passed away April 20, 2019 in Enid, OK. He was the seventh child in the family. He attended rural schools in the area, and attended high school at Marshall, graduating from Douglas High School.

On August 10, 1940 he married Jaunita Burner of Hennessey, OK and together they had one daughter, Janice. They farmed in the Marshall, Douglas, Covington, and Fairmont areas. Following their 50th anniversary, they moved from Douglas to Enid.

Horace was a member of the Douglas Christian Union Church. He was active in co-op associations in Bison, Covington, Douglas, Marshall, Fairmont, Waukomis, and Garber. He was honored as the oldest stockholder at the 2018 Land Run Coop meeting. He was active in the Mineral Owners Association, NRA, and Farm Bureau.

In 1987 he was honored as the Outstanding Farmer by the Enid Chamber of Commerce. Following, he continued to be active in the farming operations, spending time regularly at the farm. Horace was active in the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association. He was Active as a 4-H parent and sponsor, and was a member of Garfield County Rural Rotatory for over 60 years.

Horace and Jaunita traveled to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and Jamaica. They traveled over the United States every summer, and enjoyed visiting Colorado and New Mexico.

Horace is survived by his daughter, Janice Williams; his boys, Bryan Reinschmiedt and wife Ashley, Ben Reinschmiedt and wife Angela, and Jacob Reinschmiedt and wife Tiffany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Jaunita Williams; his parents, E.H. and Cora Williams; his three brothers, Edgar, Paul, and Harold; his three sisters, Irma, Mary, and Gladys.

Memorials can be made to Greenbrier Physical Therapy Department or to Covington, Douglas, or Marshall Fire Departments with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
