ENID. OK – BKD CPAs & Advisors recently contributed a record $97,275 to 11 regional higher education institutions in the fifth year of their Back to School campaign. The campaign is led by BKD’s Oklahoma practice and includes a firm match. The result is an increase of approximately 33% over last year and well over double what was raised in year one.

Local recipients include East Central University, Northeastern State University, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma State University, University of Central Oklahoma, The University of Oklahoma and The University of Tulsa.

The campaign represents a concerted, collaborative effort each year where BKD’s Oklahoma employees, partners and retired partners are encouraged to give back to their alma maters or another qualifying institution of their choice. Qualifying contributions of $50 to $500 are matched by BKD dollar for dollar. Including the match, BKD now have given more than $297,000 to higher ed institutions over the life of the campaign.

The monies go to the universities’ schools of accounting to fund scholarships for accounting students and supplement accounting faculty salaries and department budgets. The vast majority of BKD’s contributions to OSU during the campaign have gone toward the firm’s $250,000 pledge to the new Spears School of Business, which opened for classes last January and includes the BKD CPAs & Advisors Classroom.
