ENID, OK - Enid Police arrested the third home invasion suspect Thursday morning, November 8th, 2018.

Officers were able to uncover the identity of the third person involved in Tuesday night’s home invasion. At 10:18 AM Thursday morning, November 8th, 2018 Enid Police SWAT executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 2500 block of E. Cedar. Inside, they located weapons and clothing associated with the home invasion as well as a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, and cash. Two females and a child were inside the residence at the time. One of the females, Constance Woods, age 29 of Enid, was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Officers learned that the suspect was working at 2126 N. Van Buren, the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. They located the suspect inside the restaurant and placed him under arrest without incident. He was identified as Darnell Kelly, age 38 of Enid. A search warrant was executed on his car, parked outside the restaurant, and officers found an additional large amount of cocaine and marijuana.

Darnell Kelly was booked into the Garfield County Detention Facility on complaints of kidnapping (6-counts), child endangerment (3-counts), assault with a deadly weapon, trafficking cocaine (2-counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug proceeds, and maintaining a house where drugs are kept or sold. In all, over 6lbs of marijuana, 9 ounces of cocaine, and over $18,000 in cash was seized. Darnell Kelly was already a convicted felon stemming from convictions in the State of Virginia for robbery, felonious assault, and extortion.

November 7, 2018 - Enid Police investigated a home invasion that involved shots fired Tuesday night, November 6th, 2018. Though no one was shot, at least one victim was assaulted and injured. Police have arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for the crime.

On Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 officers were called to the area of 900 E. Park around 10:00PM regarding a report of shots fired. The caller reported hearing gunshots and then observing a man with a bloody face on their porch. The injured man left before officers arrived but they located him a short time later at a convenience store near 10th and Owen K. Garriott Rd. Officers spoke with the man and learned that he’d been pistol whipped and shot at during a home invasion at the Roosevelt Apartments, 831 E. Oklahoma.

Investigators learned that three suspects entered the apartment demanding the return of marijuana allegedly stolen from them. They held the occupants, a mother and her 1-day old infant inside the residence and questioned her on the whereabouts of her husband. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The husband, his 3-year old child, and two other men arrived at the residence later and were confronted by the suspects. The suspects beat and pistol whipped the husband. During the assault a struggle ensued over the handgun and the occupants were able to escape the apartment. As the husband ran away, one of the suspects fired a number of shots at him, but failed to strike him.

Two of the suspects were captured during a traffic stop several hours later at around 2:00AM. They are identified as 32 year old James Saunders and 25 year old Tamara Reed, both Enid residents. Saunders was booked in the Garfield County Detention Center on complaints of kidnapping (6-counts), assault with a deadly weapon, and child endangerment (2-counts). Reed was booked on complaints of conspiracy to commit kidnapping (6-counts), conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon, and child endangerment (2-counts).

The injured man was treated and released from Integris Bass Hospital in Enid. No other injuries have been reported. The third suspect has not yet been located and was described as a black male.
