Cheri was born October 31, 1956 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Edgar and Violet Mae (Hughes) Hendricks and passed away suddenly July 6, 2018 in Enid with her devoted family by her side.
-
In 1974, Cheri graduated from Pioneer High School. For the past 20 years, she worked for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department as Deputy where she was employed at the time of her death. She was a member of the Sheriff’s Association. Being the glue that helped keep the Sheriff’s Department together, Cheri was a mentor to many of the newer deputies, taking them under her wings. And she was known to be the eye of the courthouse, always knowing what was going on and where.
-
On June 22, 2005, Cheri married Scott McMurry in Enid. They were like two peas in a pod who were always together. They gardened, watched birds and traveled to visit family any chance they had. Their open door policy meant that everyone was welcome to enjoy their hospitality and a dunk in the pool. And who doesn’t love a good Hallmark or Lifetime movie? Cheri definitely did! She was always a caregiver, whether she needed to be or not, always giving others care and attention. Enjoying life and being with family and friends is what she cherished most. Cheri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will forever be remembered.
