A Celebration of Life service for Verda Viola Young age 89 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Thursday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. David Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Verda was born June 2, 1928 in Bluff City, KS to Guy F. Robinson and Viola E. McCray and passed away early Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Fairview Fellowship Home. Verda married Jacob “Jake” L. Young in 1953 in San Antonio, TX and he passed away January 2, 2013. She was a housewife and later worked for Hammer-Williams Mini Mart in Carmen for 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Carmen.

She is survived by her children; Larry Young of Okeene, Rod Young and wife Robin of El Reno, Mitzi Edster and husband Mark of Carmen, and Stacy Sheik of Fairview, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and her caregiver, Bridgette Dawson.

Verda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edna McCray, and two brothers, Lloyd and Harold Robinson.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Lupus Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
