Homicide Suspect Arrested in Enid

ENID, OK - On January 16th, 2018 at 4:10 PM Enid Police Officers were called to the 300 block of E. Cedar regarding a stabbing. There they found a severely injured female with multiple stab wounds inside the residence. She was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid by LIFE EMS. Unfortunately, life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and she succumbed to her injuries. The woman was identified as Maria H. Giffin, age 39, of Enid.

Enid Police Detectives investigated the crime and learned that the victim was at home when she was confronted by Katisha R. Zuniga, age 37, of Enid. What began as a verbal argument about a cellular phone quickly escalated into a pushing match and ended with Katisha stabbing Maria multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Katisha Zuniga was located and arrested without incident several hours later at 10:21PM in the 2800 block of E. Eucalyptus. She was booked into the Garfield County Detention Facility on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
