'Wildlife' World Premiere At Sundance

ENID, OK - Sundance Film Festival announced on Wednesday that they would present the world premieres of 16 narrative feature films in the Dramatic Competition. The prestigious film festival offers Festivalgoers a first look at new talent in American independent film.
-
Included in the 47 first-time filmmakers scheduled for the 2018 festival is actor Paul Dano, who submitted his adaptation of Richard Ford’s novel Wildlife, the portrait of a family in crisis starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
-
Although Wildlife is set in 1960s Montana, much of the story was filmed in and around Enid, Oklahoma. Many local extras and businesses were used during the 2016 filming. Multiple locations in Enid will be featured throughout the film as well.
-
Wildlife stars Carey Mulligan, Ed Oxenbould, Bill Camp and Jake Gyllenhaal. The story follows a boy as he witnesses his parent's marriage falling apart after his mom finds another man.
-
Film locations included an area in downtown Hennessey, Oakwood Country Club, East United, Turf Bar, Front Line Ready gas station as well as many homes around Enid. Film crews also used other locations in northwest Oklahoma.
-
Since 1978 Sundance has established itself as a major player in the independent film scene. In recent years it has even evolved into a producer of films that have played a part in Oscar nominations.
-
The 2018 Sundance Film Festival takes place in Park City, Utah and runs from January 18 to 28.
