A Glorification of Life service for Imogene Dickey, 94, will be held Tuesday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Church of the Covenant, 1205 S. Cleveland. Pastor Pat Sutherlin will preside. Jeanne was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to William Warren and Ada Mae La Rue on August 23, 1923. She departed her earthly home on September 30, 2017.
-
Jeanne grew up in the oilfields around Carter Nine, Denoya and Shidler, Oklahoma where she attended school. She played clarinet in the band and marched in Enid’s Tri-State Music Festival in 1940. She also played on the high school basketball team.
-
Jeanne was an accomplished seamstress and shared her talent with many. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper at Dierkson Jones Buick. She was a long time member of Christian church of the Covenant.
-
She loved Elvis Presley’s music. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing, watching all sports on TV, knitting and crocheting, working puzzles and playing the slots at the casinos. Most of all, she loved her family which included 14 grandchildren, 27 great-greandchildren, and 39 great-great-grandchildren.
-
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Guy La Rue, her sister, Mary Eunice Davis and her husband, Loyd Dickey. Jeanne leaves behind a daughter, Harriett Dupus and husband Carl, a son, Gary Dickey, all of Enid, and two step-children, Catherine Halcomb of Ajo, Arizona and the late Tom Dickey.

This beautiful lady, (inside and out), will be missed by many who loved her dearly.
