Funeral service to celebrate the life of Hazel Stevens, 87, of Enid, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Hazel was born to Glen Graden and Aultie (Shoemake) Josserand, on December 29, 1929, in Bennington, Oklahoma, and passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Enid.

Hazel was raised in Durant, and attended Durhams Business College, in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 22, 1955, she married Vernon Stevens in Durant. They moved to Madill for 3 years and then to Enid in 1966. Hazel was a member of First United Methodist Church, since 1967, where she was part of the Sooner Sunday School Class. She was also active in Casa La Mia Extension Homemakers and Christian Homemakers. She also volunteered at Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Hazel is survived by her husband Vernon; daughter Lisa Stevens and husband David Winkler of Arlington, Massachusetts; 2 grandchildren Stefan Winkler and Benjamin Winkler.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Enid YWCA with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
