Memorial service for Joseph A. “Joe” Serio, Jr., 61 of Enid, will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Lissa Qualls will officiate. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Joe was born on June 29, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisana to Joseph Sr. and Doris Hodges Serio and died on September 17, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He grew up in New Orleans, where he graduated from high school. Joe started working in the oilfield and made his home in Woodward, Oklahoma. He started Southwest Inspection, which he operated for several years before selling it. Joe was a driver for UPS until he retired and started Star Oilfield Services. On February 18, 2006, he married Patti A. Altenried in Woodward, where they made their home. They moved to Enid in 2014. Joe enjoyed traveling, playing golf, his Harley Davidsons and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jaime Henderson; sister Nancy Taranto.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Patti of the home; two daughters, Alexys Serio of Dallas, and Dusty and her husband Cody Rodgers of Springtown, TX; five grandchildren, Zoe Adam, Dillon Brandt, Dakota Reynolds, Cody and Colton Rodgers; sister and her husband, Toni and Alan Apawan of Denton, TX; many friends.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude’s .
