A Memorial Mass for Helen Lyons, age 81, Will be at 6:00 PM Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Foshee officiating. Burial will be in the Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Helen was born to Charles and Jessie (Wright) Verner on May 2, 1935, in Ridgeport, Texas, and passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Edmond.
Helen grew up in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and graduated from Stratford High School. On September 4, 1955, Helen married John B. Lyons, and they made their home in Pampa, Texas. They moved to Enid in 1992. Helen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, and working crossword puzzles. In 2012, Helen moved to Edmond.
Helen is survived by her children: John and Clydene Lyons of Enid, Steven Lyons of Edmond, and Michael & Sheryl Lyons of Edmond; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and one sister.
