ENID, Okla. - This Tuesday evening close to 500 clients and friends of Edward Jones Co. were treated to dinner at Enid Convention Hall. Corey Clayton welcomed the crowd which filled the entire Grand Ballroom and spoke about the history of Edward Jones and their beginnings in Enid. Clayton introduced all of the local investment advisors and their families.
-
In 1922 Edward Jones Sr. founded the Edward Jones Investment firm in a modest building in downtown St Louis. The office consisted of a single room furnished with a desk, three chairs and a hat rack. In 1957 Ted Jones hired a broker to establish the first Edward Jones office outside of the St Louis metro region. A few years later in 1964 Enid, OK opened its first Edward Jones office to help serve NW Oklahoma making Enid, it is believed, the 66th broker in the firm.

Edward Jones served the Enid area with one advisor until 1980 when a second advisor joined the Enid family. Over the past 52 years Edward Jones has continued to serve the people of the Enid area with same philosophy that the firm was founded on and that is why we have grown from one advisor in 1964 to 13 advisors serving Enid and the surrounding areas today.
