ENID, Okla. - The Oklahoma Main Street Center, a Division of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, holds an annual awards banquet honoring the accomplishments of local Main Street communities in 23 categories of community and economic development.

These awards, sent in by the local Main Street Programs, showcase the enthusiasm, creativity and responsibility toward increasing revenue and creating jobs for their local business districts. The awards banquet was Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.

Main Street Enid, Inc. won 3 of 4 awards they were nominated for at the Oklahoma Main Street Awards, plus they brought Community of the Year! Lisa Powell won Board Member of the Year.

Main Street Enid won Best Creative Fundraising Effort with their Food for Thought event. The Downtown Enid History Website won Outstanding Image Promotion and the Best Placemaking Project went to the Breezeway Pocket Park which was created in partnership with NWOAR Realtors.

Kelly Tompkins, Main Street Enid Director, posted the results on social media Tuesday night. Tompkins was joined at the wards banquet with her husband and daughter who contribute countless hours to Main Street projects.

Others attending the ceremony included Lisa Powell, Jeff Shaffer, Kurt and Cindy Young, Eddy and Susan Root, Cammeron Kaiser, Lindy Chambers, Mike Klemme, Chad Caldwell and Marcy Jarrett.
