The service celebrating the life of Virginia Maria Hamm, 73, of Ames, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday May 3, 2016 in the First Baptist Church in Ringwood with Pastor Seth McDevitt officiating. Burial will follow at the Flynn Cemetery in Cushing. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Virginia was born Oct. 29, 1942 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Benjamin and Angelina Schultz. She was raised and educated in Bridgeport and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1960. She was married to Ralph Lenoci on July 3, 1960 and from this marriage her first three children were born. She was later married Dale Elden Hamm on June 9, 1969 Tampa, Florida. They lived in Tampa short while, then moving to Anchorage, Alaska, then to Bolivar, Missouri, then to College Station, Texas and eventually living and retiring in Oklahoma. She was a volunteer for the ASACP and the First Baptist Church of Ringwood.
Virginia is survived by her children: Margo Jarrell of St. Louis, Missouri, Ralph Lenoci of Jacksonville, FL, William Hamm of Ames, Dale and Tina Hamm of Ringwood, and Diane McClanahan of Ames, 14 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale and Grandson Nash McClanahan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America with Brown-Cummings serving as custodians of the funds.
