A Celebration of Life for Charles W. Bland, 85, of Enid, will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 10:00 AM at Grace Ministries Church, 2502 W. Elm, Enid, with Pastor Wayne Bland officiating. The interment will follow in the Wakita Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 7 PM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Charles was born June 15, 1930 and passed away April 23, 2016.
Charles was born in Wakita, OK the son of George and Fay Bland. He was a graduate of Wakita High School in 1948. Charles was a veteran of the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Juanita Holzwarth September 4, 1954 in Warsaw, MO. He was a farmer, owned a help-your-self Laundry in Wakita and worked for L.P. Scott in an insurance agency which he later purchased. In 1962, he started a manufacturing business making fertilizer equipment called WAKO, Inc which in 1986, he moved the factory to Enid, OK.
He was a member of the Baptist Temple in McAllen, TX and loved serving the Lord. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. He always gave God the credit for his equipment designs. He will be remembered as one who served and gave of his self to all.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, two sons, Rex Bland and his wife Julie of Enid, OK, Wayne Bland and his wife Diana of Enid, OK, a daughter, Sandy Aldrich and her husband Tony of Edmond, OK., eleven grandchildren, nineteen and a half great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Ronck of Wakita, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patsy Cink.
