Damion Lamar Harry, resident of Ponca City, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was 37 years old.
Damion was born Sept. 10, 1978, in Kingfisher, the son of George and Dolores Harry. He attended several schools in Oklahoma and Texas and was very active in sports. He was a big fan of his favorite, OU Sooners football. Having worked for several years in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas, he decided to further his education. He graduated from Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) at Tonkawa in 2012. He received an Associate of
Applied Science degree with high honors and a 4.0 grade average. Damion leaves three children, Jordan, Brianna and Sophia; mother, Dolores Nelson, of Arizona; sister, Angie Harry, of Edmond; half-brothers and half-sisters, Christopher Gibson and Melody Gibson and Darla Rudd and David Rudd; grandparents, Shirley Harry and Bob Bussey, of Ponca City; Uncle Bill Harry, of Bartlesville and his children Mecca Freeman, MattHarry and Andrew Harry, of Bartlesville and Jackson Evertt, of Missouri; Uncle Todd Harry (deceased), formerly of Monett, Mo. and his children, Mindy Halden and Micheala Hermes, of Newkirk, T.J., Trent and Katie Harry, of Monett, Mo.; Aunt Juanita Fields and husband Randy, of Newkirk and their children, Tina Harry, of Stillwater and Bethany Fields, of Newkirk; Aunt Barbara Steen and husband, R.W., of Ponca City and their children, Jennifer Gibson and Kelly Feathers, of Ponca City; Aunt Tamra Case, of Newkirk, her children, Shaun Heppel and Turner Heppel, of Ponca City and Maci Heppel, of Newkirk; Aunt Jodi Smith, of Ponca City and her children,
Neal Jr., Kristen and Zach Smith, of Ponca City. He also leaves behind numerous family members.
Damion had a special place in his heart for “Tudge” Tyler McDaniel, his cousin and his very close friend, Chance Lessert. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Butler; paternal grandfather, Jack Nels Harry; father, George Harry; Aunt Debi Harry and Uncle Todd Harry. Damion was willing to help on any occasion that came his way. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 15, at Riverside Cemetery, Ralston.
