The services Celebrating and honoring the life of Mr. David Shearon, 69, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 25, 2016 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
David was born September 7, 1946 in Dodge City, Kansas to Nathan Shearon and Ruth Leonard. He passed from this life February 16, 2016 at Audie Murphy VA Hospital, San Antonio, Texas.
He was raised and educated in Dodge City, Kansas and attended Dodge City High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served two tours in Vietnam in a security platoon with the Seabee's and served in Geronimo Bay Cuba. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He made his home in Cumberland, Maryland where he met and married his former wife. He moved to Kansas and then to Enid in 1981. He married Debbie White, May 26, 2001 in Enid.
He earned his accounting degree and worked as an accountant and later founded, owned and operated Sooner exploration company which he later sold. He along with his wife own and operated Sundance Wine and Spirits.
He is survived by his wife of the home Debbie Shearon; Children, Amy Rodgers and husband Michael, Wayne and wife Elizabeth, Tasha Hoskins and husband Joe, Jesse Henry and wife Amber, Raymond Henry and wife Danielle; Two sisters, Carol Dockins and Margie Bushell; brothers, Nathen Shearon, Ronald Shearon and Richard Shearon and 10 Grand Children.
Memorials may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
