Funeral services for Fred Wright, 88, of Tahlequah, OK will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. With Army Chaplain Daniel Collins officiating., Military graveside rites will be coordinated by the United States Army. Arrrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.
Fred was born on July 15, 1927 in Lamar, KS, the son of Fred and Alta Wright. Fred moved with his family to Miltonvale, KS, where he graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1945. Fred served his country in the United States Army for 21 years and was honorably discharged in 1967. Fred was a Korea and Vietnam war veteran. He married Elizabeth (Pat) Wolf who preceded him in death. Fred then married Barbara Ferrell who also preceded him in death. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and Tahlequah Elks Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Greg Wright and his wife, Vicki Wright. Step son, Keith Ferrell. Grandson Cameron Gifford and his wife, Frances Gifford, their children McKenzi Berry, Kami Gifford and Jaxon Gifford. Grandson Drew Gifford and his wife Tiffany Gifford; their children Daxten Gifford and Finley Gifford.
