ENID, Okla. - Vince Gill and Lee Ann Womack played Enid Event Center Saturday night and left the crowd ready for a return show. Not being the biggest country song enthusiast I was totally on board with Gill's guitar pickin and his refreshing voice. At times I was tapping my feet feeling more like I was at a rockin rhythm and blues show.
-
Hands down, the best part of the show for me was when Gill described getting his first big check after hearing his hit song on the radio. He said he didn't go buy a car or a house, he spent his first big paycheck on a Sonic ice machine! That's exactly what I would have done!
-
“Vince Gill is an icon in Oklahoma, which makes it extra special that he headlines the 3rd Anniversary show for Enid Event Center” said Spectra’s Keller Taylor, former General Manager of Enid Event Center and Convention Hall. Gill let the audience know his roots are in Oklahoma and he was glad to be back.
-
One of the most popular singers in modern country music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit. Gill achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which won both the Country Music Association’s Single and Song of the Year award as well as a Grammy. Since then, he has won 17 more CMA honors, including Song of the Year four times – making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history. Since 1990, Gill has won 20 GRAMMY Awards.

Rather than go on about how personable Gill was and what songs he sang, I'll let the fans speak for themselves. These are comments we received from our social media entities.
