Enid native and former NBA star Mark Price has agreed to become the new head coach at UNC Charlotte. The 1982 Enid High graduate will be leaving the Charlotte Hornets as an assistant to become a head coach in the college ranks.
Price starred at Enid High and Georgia Tech before becoming one of the NBA's great shooters. Price has spent time with the Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies.
Price received a five-year offer from UNC Charlotte and tweeted that he had accepted the position on his Twitter account on Wednesday, March 25.
Price played for 13 years in the NBA, earning four All-Star appearances, and his No. 25 is retired by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
