Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood at the Tulsa BOK Center
Friday, January 9 - January 17, 2015
With his come back in full swing, Garth Brooks has reached the Oklahoma leg of his new world tour. Brooks has been announcing each new city separately, an idea he got from Las Vegas mogul Steve Wynn.
Brooks sets up each destination city with its own on-sale date and its own press conference. Brooks has stated that once he plays a market, he won't play another city within 200 miles for a year. For Oklahoma City fans, that means there could be tour dates but not for 12 months.
Brooks' has stated that his comeback world tour could continue another two years. In that time, he plans to record another album, which could come out as early as the fall of 2015.
The BOK Center in Tulsa will be welcoming Brooks on Friday, January 9 for his first of many Tulsa concerts. There will be a news conference on Friday afternoon and Enid Buzz has been invited to attend.
We will be heading over to Tulsa on Friday with the video crew from iMuze Productions and Jack Quirk from KJ Productions. There will be a flurry of one on one interviews with Brooks after the news conference and Enid Buzz is also on the list to ask him a few questions.
I will return to Tulsa the next day to attend his first of two concerts Saturday night. I will be doing a concert review which will be posted early the next week for those headed over the next weekend.
I attended OSU the same years that Brooks was there and hung out at many of the bars he played while getting his career started. We're the same age and both arranged our career paths so that we could be around to raise our daughters.
I'm very excited to have Brooks appear on Enid Buzz and will attempt to ask him some quick questions about his Stillwater days and the possibility of ever appearing in Enid.
There is a slight chance that not all media outlets will get the one on one interviews due to time constraints but we will do our best to bring a Garth Brooks interview to Enid, Oklahoma.
Be watching our Facebook, Twitter and website feeds throughout the afternoon. We will 100% be uploading behind the scenes photos from the news conference. I can't guarantee that I'll have a phone signal to get it uploaded right away but will make every attempt.

About Garth Brooks
Certified by the RIAA in 2000 as the #1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, Garth Brooks is now certified at 134 million albums and has received every accolade the recording industry can bestow on an artist.
In 2001, Garth retired and moved back to Oklahoma to raise his children. In 2008 the President-elect, himself, requested that Garth headline President Obama's Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. A crowd of over 300,000 did the "wave" to Garth's performance of "Shout" while the President sang along. That same year the Governor of California asked Garth to help the State. Garth performed 5 concerts in 2 days with the proceeds from 83,000 tickets sold donated to efforts to prevent fire catastrophes. Portions of the live concerts were shown as a TV special, "Garth Brooks: Live in L.A." allowing viewers to donate as well.
In December 2010, Garth finished an astonishing 9 sold out concerts in 6 days to raise money for the flood relief efforts in Tennessee. ABC World News Tonight declared Garth The Person of the Week and the Mayor of Nashville announced that this was a record December for downtown Nashville merchants due to the over 145,000 who attended the concerts.
In January, 2012 he was named the best-selling artist of the last two decades by Billboard, Nielson and SoundScan, with a whopping 68.5 million sales. Brooks also sold out his recent appearance at the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede. The sell out 15,000+ seats happened in less then a minute. Garth was recently inducted into the International Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York as well as the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. In October he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Performing for his induction were his heroes George Strait, James Taylor and Bob Seger.
On November 29th, 2013, Garth took the night with almost 9 million viewers watching his CBS special "Live From Las Vegas." That very day Garth released his new boxed set, Blame It All On My Roots, which debuted for the 13th time in Garth's career at #1 on the country charts. The boxed set also rose to the top of the Billboard 200 Chart making it the 9th time Garth has been able to achieve that feat.
Garth's performance of "Friends in Low Places," was the last thing heard on The Tonight Show as Jay Leno ended his 22 year reign as The Tonight Show host.
On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014, Garth released a new single, "People Loving People." It was his first new single since 2008.
On Tuesday, November 11th, 2014, Garth released Man Against Machine, his first new studio album since 2001.

Hi there.
Originally from Enid and still have family there. Was on KCRC, KNID and programmed KXLS back in the late 70s thru ’88.
Now living in Sacramento, CA, where my wife and the girlfriends went to Garth’s show last night. She said one of his band members was from Enid. Do you know who it is?
Dana Hess
EHS ’69
I don’t know. I have never heard that. When I asked him about Enid in the interview he talked all about playing here and how some EHS students had transferred to Yukon when he was in high school but he never mentioned a band member being from here.
Thanks. Interviewed him back around ’99, and when I told him I was originally from Enid, he smiled real big and said “the Plainsmen.”
