The Hayes elementary students desperately need your help to make a dream come true. They have been raising money for the past 2 years for a new playground and their hearts are set on installing it this summer 2014. Your donation would definitely make a difference!
They are looking for any size donation from Enid residents and would really like to find help from any Hayes alumni out there.
Why give?
- Although several schools received new playground equipment through the recent school bond, Hayes was not one of them. Their playground equipment was last updated in 2002. The current plan for playground renovations totals $49,000.
- The students, ranging from 4-12 years of age, have raised a total of over $17,000 through their annual Read-a-thon. They used their minds to read for something they all want. There were no costs to this fundraiser so 100% of the money goes to the playground.
- Local businesses that have a connection to Hayes students rallied together and matched the students reading efforts this year for $7,750.
- Hayes is the only nationally recognized Healthy School in the state of Oklahoma! They received an award from the White House for this initiative. From a healthier lunch menu to safe and productive playtime, they focus on strong minds and bodies for our students.
- With PTA funds set aside for this project, they only need around $7,000 more to install the playground this summer.
The students are asking for just a little more help to see their dream achieved. The students have not forgotten to fund other academic needs while raising money for the playground. They have awarded over $9,000 to school and classroom needs in 2013-2014.
