Communication Federal Credit Union Offers Storm Shelter Loan Program at Less Than 1% Fixed Interest for Oklahomans in Response to Recent Disaster
OKLAHOMA - Communication Federal Credit Union, one of Oklahoma's largest credit unions, is now offering storm shelter loans at 0.99% Annual Percentage Rate. The Credit Union, which started their storm shelter loan program two years ago, is lowering the rate to less than 1% in order to help as many Oklahomans afford life-saving storm shelters as possible. This decision was reached in response to the recent outbreak of deadly tornadoes and the Credit Union's desire to help people afford the tornado shelters that are so desperately needed.
"The credit union motto is people helping people", says Communication Federal Credit Union's President Larry Shropshire. "We've been meeting to determine ways in which we can reach out and help our communities over the long term. We definitely see the need for all Oklahomans to have shelters in order to protect them from our deadly weather. Our hope is that this program will help save lives."
The storm shelter rate of 0.99% APR is a fixed rate that will never change over the term of the loan. Since the program's original inception two years ago, over 600 storm shelters have been installed for families involved in this program.
The offer will last until the end of the year so that Oklahomans, especially those affected by the recent tragedy, will have plenty of time to contact the Credit Union if they would like to participate in this program. Anyone who is interested in a storm shelter loan is encouraged to visit any Communication Federal Credit Union branch or contact a branch representative toll free at 800.522.3535.
