Joe Weidner

October 16, 1955 - January 12, 2025

The visitation celebrating and honoring the life of Joe Lyle Weidner, 69, of Ames, will be held 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday January 17, 2025, in the Brown-Cummings Celebration home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life Celebration home.

Joe was born October 16, 1955, to Orval and Maxine Stambaugh Weidner in Kingfisher, Oklahoma and passed from this life January 12, 2025 at his home in Ames, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Ames, graduating with the class of 1973. While he was in high school, he worked at a motorcycle dealership as a mechanic. After graduation he worked for a Toyota dealership. He then went to work at Detirck’s Dairy Farm as a Herdsman. He founded Harley Davidson Dealership for a while and then went to work as a Mason with George White Masonry. He met his wife Doreen Sims January 1, 1982, the couple has enjoyed life together for forty-three years. He then joined the trucking industry working for Brett Perry Trucking doing short hauls. He later became an independent trucker and founded Part-time Trucking, LLC. while also doing custom cutting and harvesting. He was a very hard worker and could fix anything that no one else could. He enjoyed racing stock cars at Enid Speedway in his younger years and riding motorcycles. He liked spending time talking on the phone camping, fishing and drinking a cold beer. He also enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter for the Breckenridge Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Doreen Weidner, of the home, one son Harley Weidner of Ames, OK, two daughters Christy Thompson of Dibble, OK and Jessica Stephens, of Enid, OK; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
