The services celebrating and honoring the life of George O. Davie, 75, of Enid, will be held Privately under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Born April 13, 1949, to Willard Gene and Lennia Maye (Bates) Davie in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and passed from this life December 5, 2024.
He was raised and educated in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Clackamas High school in Portland, Oregon, in 1967. He joined the United States Navy right after High School and served for 2 years as an active service member and 4 years reserve. On the 18th of June 1969, while crossing the Arctic Circle on the USS Bordelon, George received the title of: “Great and Honorable Bluenose”. He moved back to Oklahoma after his honorable discharge from the Navy and worked as a trucker in the Oil Field. He married Karen Prochaska on August 22nd, 1975, and had three children Jenny, Kelly and Eric. He later worked for GEFCO for 18 years until his retirement.
After his retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife Karen Davie, of the home, and his children, Jenny Minter and husband Jimmy, of Kremlin, Kelly Duncan and husband Jack, of Enid, and Eric Davie and wife Cathy, of Enid; two grandchildren, Cherokee and Chase Minter; two great-grandchildren Camreigh and Christlynn; and one sister, Patty Browning, of Texas, and one brother Michael Browning, of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Lennia Maye Davie and one brother Jerry Gates.
