Courtney Dennis Announces Candidacy for Ward 6 City Commissioner

ENID, OK - Courtney Dennis, a dedicated community leader and the Executive Director of YWCA Enid, is thrilled to announce her candidacy for Enid’s Ward 6 City Commission seat in the February 11, 2025 municipal election. With more than a decade of experience leading impactful nonprofit and business initiatives in Northwest Oklahoma, Dennis brings to the table an impressive background in leadership, social services, and community advocacy.

As Executive Director of YWCA Enid, Dennis manages a five-county service area, overseeing 24/7 crisis services, a dedicated team of seventeen, and an annual budget of up to $1 million. Her work at YWCA, combined with her prior roles at Stride Bank Center, Enid News & Eagle, TFI Family Connections, and Associated Therapeutic Services, showcase her diverse expertise in social services, marketing, sales, and nonprofit management.

In addition to her professional achievements, Dennis is a devoted community volunteer and active member of numerous organizations, including the Garfield County Republican Party, Rotary Club of Enid, Junior Welfare League of Enid, P.E.O. Chapter FS, Leadership Greater Enid, and Gaslight Theatre. As an Honorary Commander at Vance Air Force Base and member of various local boards and civic groups, she is passionate about the Enid community and its continued growth.

At the state level, Dennis serves as the OKGOP State Committeewoman for Garfield County, and advocates for domestic violence survivors with End Violence Oklahoma. She is also a member of Leadership Oklahoma Class 37.

After a multi-state and international upbringing, Dennis chose Enid as her permanent home in 2006. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, attending both the NWOSU and Northern Oklahoma College Enid Campuses. Her husband, Riley, an Enid native, is the President of Dennis Plumbing Co.

“I’m running because I love this community and am deeply invested in our future. My vision for Enid is to be the most vibrant and thriving city in Northwest Oklahoma,” Dennis said. “If elected, I will bring integrity, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and innovation. I’m committed to being a strong voice for all Ward 6 residents and building a city where everyone can flourish—a place we’re all proud to call home.”
