Funeral service for Syble Louise Guthrie, age 91, of Enid, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Syble was born on March 22, 1933 in Borger, TX to Thomas and Pearl (Tisdale) Kennington, and passed away on October 3, 2024 in Enid. She married Bob Guthrie on September 8, 1950 in Enid, OK, and from this marriage they had two sons Robert, “JR”, and Tommy Guthrie. They raised their family in Enid, where she worked at Wiebel Ice Cream, Wheeler Cooper T.V., First National Bank, and Groendyke Transport in 1958. She retired from Groendyke in 2000, and then went to work at Enid Diagnostics and Counseling and retired in 2023. She loved the Oklahoma City Thunder, and enjoyed going with the grandchildren to Oklahoma City to watch them play.
Syble is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob Guthrie; son Tommy Guthrie; sister Mary Smith; brothers Buddy, Junior, and Roger Kennington. She is survived by her son, JR and his wife Shirley Guthrie; brothers Teddy Wayne and Tommy Kennington; sister, Debbie Scott; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was loved dearly.
