Ronald "Butch" Leroy Schlup Jr.

July 4, 1962 - September 25, 2024

A Celebration of Life for Ronald “Butch” Leroy Schlup Jr. will be held on Wednesday October 2, 2024, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory in Enid at 11 o’clock in the morning.

Ronald was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on July 4th, 1962, to Judith Ann Coy (Osborn) and Ronald Leroy Schlup Sr. He passed away on September 25th, 2024, at his home in Hunter, Oklahoma.

Ronald was the oldest of five children and was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri where he spent the majority of his childhood. He joined the Navy at 17, where he received his GED and pursued a career in culinary arts. Ronald served from 1979 until 1982, when he was honorably discharged. He married and resided in West Virginia where he had his first son, Brandon, and owned his first business until 1993. Ronald then moved to Oklahoma and pursued his passion in the culinary field, working in the food industry as a head chef. He married Carrie Powell and together they had 5 children: Raven, Tiffany, Mary, Preston, and Dylan.

After many years as an Oklahoma resident, he decided to move closer to his childhood home and resided in Missouri until 2016 when he moved back to Oklahoma to be near his family & children. Ronald was a very proud PeePaw to seven grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He proudly spoke of his grandchildren to everyone he met.

He is proceeded in death by his father Ronald Leroy Schlup Sr. and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his children, Brandon Schlup, Raven Pratt and her husband Cole, Tiffany Chase and her husband Dustin, Mary Buss and her husband Tucker, Preston Schlup, and Dylan Schlup and his fiancé Jadyn; his mother and stepfather, Judith and James Coy; his siblings, Becky Mohan, Bill Schlup and his wife Mellisa, James Coy Jr., and Kristina Blaylock and her husband Troy; along with his seven grandchildren, Knox Guffy, Kreed Guffy, Indy Chase, Mora Pratt, Ledger Pratt, Sloane Pratt, and Emery Buss. As well as many other relatives and friends.

Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
