Funeral services for Buell Russell Olmstead, age 86, of Covington, will be10:00am, Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Lucien Faith Church, in Lucien, with Pastors Lana and Don Knott officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 6-7pm at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Buell was born August 28, 1937, in Enid, to Ted and Audrey (Hasbrook) Olmstead, and passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, in Perry, Oklahoma. He joined the US Air Force in 1958, after completing basic training, he married Martha Casteel on December 28, 1958 in the Pleasant Hill Church near Covington. They were a military family, serving in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and various States, before retiring in 1979.
He is survived by his wife Martha; son, Bryan Olmstead and wife Fina of Fort Worth, TX; six grandchildren; Brandy Warriner, Mandy Wood, Chase Harmon, Holly Olmstead, Brandon Row, and Hunter Reinhart; six great-grandchildren, Audrey, Tae, Hattie, Tyce, Adlee, and Xael. Buell is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brynda Row; and son, Russell Olmstead.
Memorial contributions in Buell’s name may be made to the Lucien Faith Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
