Norma Ruth Miller (Carl)

June 5, 1926 - June 9, 2024

The Services for Norma Ruth Miller (Carl) will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements will be under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. A private family burial will precede the service.

Norma Ruth was born June 5, 1926, in Douglas, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Lala Carl and passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. She spent many happy years growing up on the farm with her brother Martin, who predeceased her in September of 2023. She attended Fairview School then Douglas High School graduating in 1944. Where she met her future husband, Alden Miller.

After finishing business school, she began working at Champlin. On August 5, 1945, she married Alden when he returned from World War ll. They made their farm home in Douglas area where she worked several years at the Douglas Co-Op Elevator while helping A.C farm.

After raising their two daughters Cheryl and Claudia, Norma Ruth and Alden joyously entertained their grandsons on their farm. Many happy memories are engrained in the boys' minds; like throwing rocks in the pond, learning to hit a baseball, riding four wheelers, and all the fun things farm kids do. They later retired in Enid and had happy times with Martin and Kay Carl as well as, Deanna and Ronnie Miller their brothers and sisters-in-laws.

She is survived by her daughters Cheryl (Don) Dennis and Claudia Finnegan, grandchildren Ryan (Cicily) Staerkel, Chad (Ramee) Staerkel, Hayden (Lindsay) Staerkel, Riley (Courtney) Dennis, Donna Cipaldi (Ben), Phil Finnegan, Mike (Krista) Finnegan, Doug (Amy) Finnegan, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Kay Carl, Deanna Miller, and Yvonne Miller.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Alden, grandson Brent Hunter, brother Martin Carl, infant brother Bruce Carl, and parents Lloyd and Lala Carl.

The family suggest if anyone wishes to make memorials they be made to the church or Enid SPCA.
