The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Marilyn Joan Jones, 87, of Enid will be held at a later date. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Marilyn was born August 16, 1939, to Ernest Leroy and Mildred Heloise (Brashear) Goodrich in Winfield, Kansas and passed away peacefully in her home in Enid May 15, 2024.
Marilyn graduated form Winfield High School and then married the love of her life, Vernon Jones, They lived in Winfield for the first few years of their life together, except for while Vern served in the Army. After the Army, they opened up a carpet store, S&J flooring, and remained there until 1968 when they moved to Enid for a new job opportunity. They remained in the flooring business most of their lives together with Sav-Mor Decorating and Vern’s Wholesale.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Ginger (Harry) Choate, of Enid, grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy) Sexton, of Phoenix, Arizona, Kyle (Shannon) Reed, of Austin, Texas; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Jason, and Jalyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vern, and her son Mike.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home serving as custodian of the funds.
