Joann Sheffield

March 1, 1932 - March 24, 2024

The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Joann Kathryn (Price) Sheffield, 92, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday March 29, 2024, in the Covington Cemetery with Pastor Tony Sheffield officiating. A visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Thursday March 28, 2024 in the Brown-Cummings life celebration home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.

Joann was born, the first of six children, March 1, 1932, to John K. and Bertha Weber Price in Marshall, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 24, 2024 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School with the class of 1950. She went on to attend nursing school at the Enid YWCA, achieving her LPN. She began working at Bass Hospital then St. Mary’s Hospital. She married Bobbie L. Sheffield June 27, 1953, from this union came three children Mike, Valerie, and Tony. The family made their home in Enid where she continued her career as Dr. Janzen’s nurse for many years, building a great relationship with their family into her retirement. She gave her life to the Lord in her early twenties and always made her relationship with Christ of utmost importance in her and her family’s life. She was a devoted member of Graceway Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for many years and loved her babies. She enjoyed cooking, collecting beautiful dishes and hummingbirds and absolutely loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter Valerie McCamey and husband Buddy, of Enid, one son Tony Sheffield and wife Eileen, of Maypearl, Texas, and one daughter in law, Cindy Sheffield, of Edmond, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Sheffield; one son Mike Sheffield; and her five siblings, Geraldine Price, Lanell Thomas Charles Price, Jean Mudd, and Jimmy Price.
