September 6, 1948 - March 19, 2024
Leanna Kaye Grabow Headlee Schulz passed from this world March 19, 2024, 15 days after a massive stroke.
Leanna was born in 1948 to Melvin and Mary Ann Grabow. Leanna grew up in a loving home with 4 younger sisters: Paulette, Viola, Marsha and Marie. Leanna graduated from Mangum High School. She married Bill Headlee in 1966 during which time she graduated from Beauty College in Enid, OK. In their 30+ year marriage they had 2 children: Wade and Stormie. They made their home in Enid for a few years and then they moved their family overseas for Bill’s career. Leanna used her beauty degree and managed a beauty business while living in Saudia Arabia for 13 years. Every summer Leanna would travel with Wade and Stormie to stay with her parents so that her children grew up knowing their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In 1985 the Headlee Family moved back to Oklahoma. In the years that followed Leanna opened a business, she worked as a beauty operator and a pharmacy clerk but she found her calling as a home health provider. In 1991 she started her own business, LK’S Home Health Care from which she eventually retired.
Leanna became a grandmother 2x in 2000 to Jacobi Headlee and Sam Keith and again in 2002 to Heather Keith. Through the years she gained bonus grandkids - Tyler & Peyton Stevenson & Tabor & Dalton Johns. Being Nana was a role she cherished. She always enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She really loved to cook for them and to be available for them anytime.
In 2013 Leanna & Charles Schulz committed themselves to each other. They combined their lives & bought a house in Fairmont, OK. Together they enjoyed family - first and foremost. Card games and dominoes were always an option when meeting up with Leanna. One of her favorite things was to have house guests that she could fuss over - her children, her grandchildren, her sisters and their loved ones, other family members, friends and strangers - it did not matter. She loved taking care of everyone.
Leanna loved teasing and laughing with Charlie. Together they enjoyed meeting her sisters and their husbands for a few days camping anytime that they could. These last few years “sister trips” were frequently on the calendar. She was honored to have had those times together.
Leanna will leave a huge hole in our family and in our hearts. Her house will be too quiet. Our phones won’t ring as often. Her laughter won’t be heard. Leanna will live on in our hearts and in our memories. To anyone who knew her - she loved you with her whole heart. To her sisters - she would have chosen you to walk by her side and be her longest friendships again and again. To Bill - she would thank you for the life she enjoyed and for her beloved children that you raised together. To her children and grandchildren - Nana woke up everyday thinking of you and loved every minute that she spent with you whether in person or on the phone.
Finally, to Charlie - her love. She would thank you for the life and comfort that you provided this last decade. She loved your orneriness, your humor, your support and she loved that you loved her.
No matter if you knew her as Leanna, Sister, Wife, Mom, Nana, Aunt or Friend, you were loved whole heartedly by her.
Glory to the reunion in Heaven with her grandparents, her parents, Melvin and Mary Ann Grabow, her sister Marsha & many other family members that have gone before her.
For the husband, sisters, children, grandchildren, family and friends that survive Leanna we will see her again and that will be a glorious reunion.
In lieu of flowers or gifts Leanna would have loved a shared memory on the tribute wall.
Leanna’s final resting place will be in Eagle City Cemetery, Eagle City, Oklahoma.
