Funeral service for Donnie Jackson, 92 of Hennessey will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Duane Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Friday after 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Donnie was born January 28, 1931 in Burkburnett, Texas to Floyd and Gladys (Huff) Jackson and died on November 23, 2023 in Hennessey.
He grew up in Megargel, Texas and graduated from Megargel High School. Donnie played football at Daniel Baker College and then enlisted in the U.S. Marines. He served in Korea. Following his discharge, he returned to Texas and married Patricia “Patsy” Mersiovsky on June 26, 1955 in Clara, Texas. Donnie worked for Exxon, retiring after 30 years. The family moved to Hennessey in 1969. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Donnie enjoyed fishing, watching football and going to the coffee shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed; grandson, Cole Orr.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; children and their spouses, Sharon and Mike Riddle, Guy and Tami Jackson, and DeAnn and Doug Goodwin; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
