The services celebrating and honoring the life of Colleen Rose Cummings Cardwell, 93, of Drummond, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday October 28, 2023 in the United Church of Christ, Drummond. Burial will follow in the Del Norte Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, Life celebration home.
Colleen was born April 5, 1930, on the family farm near Drummond to William and Mary Cummings and passed away on October 24, 2023.
She attended school in Drummond through the sixth grade then her family moved to Enid where she attended Enid Schools, and graduated from the Enid High School class of 1948. After high school she lived in California for one year where she attended Ventura College. She then moved home and in 1949 married Ed Cardwell. They were married 56 years living on the family farm in Drummond until he passed away in 2005. Colleen worked at the Bank of Drummond for 14 years. She was a member of the Puritan Congregational United Church of Christ in Drummond.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Lisa Norris and husband Shane of Drummond, Ok, Lori Fifield and husband Troy of Anna, Tx, and Jena Bjornson and husband Jeff of St. Louis, MO, two great grandchildren, Tyler Norris and Kacey Fifield, one niece, Tomilyn Quigley and husband Steve, two nephews, Doyle Hanan and wife Susan, Keith Hanan and wife Elizabeth and one son.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her aunt, and sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Drummond FCA or Forgotten Ministries with Brown Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
