Graveside services for Lester Frank Vaughan, Sr, Enid resident will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 7, 2023 in the Douglas Cemetery with Pastor Tom Pullin officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Committal prayers and interment arrangements will be conducted by the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Lester was born in Mulhall, Oklahoma, the son of Patrick Henry Vaughan and Dema Belle King Vaughan, and passed away peacefully with his family near his side, on June 29, 2023 at his residence. He was raised in the south of Crescent and Dover area. Lester graduated from Hayward School with the class of 1948. Lester married Iris Rae McClelen in Covington, Oklahoma. He was her sweetheart for life and will always be in death also. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. Lester served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 serving as a battery operator. They lived in the Ames and Drummond area and then Enid for 31 years . Lester worked for the Credit Bureau. He owned his own business.
Survivors include Lester’s wife Iris of the residence; daughter, Donna Rae and husband Steve Smith of Hitchcock, Oklahoma; Lester Vaughan, Jr. and wife Laura of Enid; three grandchoildren, Dustin, Derrick, Joshua;; four great-grandchildren Benjamin, Elizabeth, Emrys, Chaden.
Lester was preceded in passing by his parents, twelve brothers and sisters.
