Celebration of Life Service for Don McGuar, 94 Enid, is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in the McGuire Cemetery east of Lucien under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Don was born February 22, 1929 at Covington, OK to Jake and Mildred McNeil McGuar, and passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 in Enid.
He attended Covington School. On July 3, 1952, Don married Marcelyn Branen in Covington, OK. He was an accountant for Champlin Petroleum for a number of years and later worked for Garfield County Assessors until retirement. Don was a member of First Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marcelyn on May 19, 2018, two brothers Gerald and Raymond McGuar and a great-grandson Bryce Crow.
He is survived by his two daughters, Marsha Moritz and husband Rick of Perry and Sherry Dalrymple and husband Alan of Enid, four grandchildren, Clint Moritz, Kellie Rasmussen, Jenny Beliele and Jamie Gibson, and seven great-grandchildren.
