KOFM Is Now HD Radio

ENID, OK - On Thursday March 2 nd KOFM at dial position 103.1 FM made the leap to High Definition Radio known as HD Radio. Armed with a brand new state of the art digital transmitter KOFM is now available on the HD1 Band for radios equipped with HD. KOFM is the first HD radio station in the area.

Station Owner Kyle Williams was at the transmitter site to power the new digital transmitter up for the first time, inaugurating a new era in northwest Oklahoma Radio. When asked about this exciting moment, Williams commented, “We are so excited to have the opportunity to serve our community with this new technology that will carry KOFM well into the next decade”.

Operations Manager Alan Clepper commented: “Being HD gives our audience a much better listening experience. They’ll be able to hear sounds that traditional FM radio just can’t deliver. It’s like someone peeling the cellophane from new speakers!”

“The advantages of going to digital HD are numerous”, mentions General Manager Bob Villones. “In addition to the HD listener, our traditional FM listeners will notice a significant improvement to the sound of KOFM. Even our advertiser’s commercials will sound better”!

When asked what the future holds for KOFM, Villones answered, “with this new platform, we’ll be able to add more stations on the same frequency as KOFM, HD2, 3, and 4. By end of year, we hope to have 3 more HD Stations on the air.

KOFM is known as My Country 103.1 KOFM and is operated by Williams Media Group, a subsidiary of William Capitol. KOFM has been on the air since 1981. Initially, the call letters were KUAL. The KOFM call letters were chosen to represent Oklahoma FM and replaced KUAL in 1986.
