Graveside services for Carla Rae Redding, 59, Enid resident, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in the Kremlin Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Vanmeter officiating. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Carla was born to Delmar and Ruth Ann Hammond on January 24, 1964 in Oklahoma City and passed away unexpectedly at her residence on March 8, 2023. The family moved to Enid in 1976 where she attended Pleasant Vale Elementary and graduating from Pioneer High School with the class of 1982. Carla graduated from Phillips University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology. She used her degree and her compassion for people in her career helping the elderly receive the care and services they needed to remain in their homes. Carla met Randy Redding, the love of her life, in 1982. They were married on June 4, 1983 at Willow Road Christian Church. Randy and Carla were blessed with the birth of their son, Austin, in 2001. Carla was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister.
Carla is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her precious son, Austin,, her mother, Ruth Ann Hammond, all of Enid; sisters, Connie (Charles deceased) O’Dell of Luther and Cathy (Phil) Tiefenbrun of Arlington, Texas; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Carla was preceded in passing by her grandparents, Carl and Edna Romine and Raymond and Irene Melia; her father, Delmar L. Hammond, Jr., her brother in law, Charles O’Dell.
The family has stressed, instead of flowers, memorial checks be made payable to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.
