Norma Jean Miller, 82, formerly of Drummond, left this world peacefully and joined the Lord in Heaven Sept. 9, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the United Church of Christ in Drummond. Rev. Matt Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Del Norte cemetery.
Norma was born Aug. 3, 1934 to Minnie Mabel and Kenneth Baugher in Salina, Kansas. In 1953 she graduated from Garnett High School and went on to attend Kansas University Medical Center where she earned her license in radiologic technology. On Oct. 18, 1958, Norma married Leon Miller in Garnett, Kansas. The couple relocated to Oklahoma in 1963 where Norma worked for many years as a radiology technician. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Drummond, where she raised her children and made several life-long friends. A woman of many talents, she could often be found cooking for her large family, painting or woodworking. She owned Granny’s Kitchen in Drummond from 1983 to 1987, where she was known for her fried chicken and homemade pies. In 2002 Norma re-located to Colorado Springs to be near daughter, Susan. She lived there until her death. Norma will always be remembered for her desire to take care of others and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She is survived by husband, Leon Miller, Drummond; son Joseph Miller and wife Peggy, Drummond; daughter Julie Jaggers, Las Vegas, NV; son Kenneth Miller, Drummond; daughter Susan and husband Jim McCormack, Colorado Springs, CO; son David Miller, Drummond; son Ronnie Miller and wife Ynita Diduik, Drummond; and son Donnie Miller and wife Leah, Drummond. Also surviving are sister, Leona and husband Jack King, Drummond; grandchildren, Erica Miller, Enid; Michael Miller, Norman; Christine Miller, Enid; Thomas Miller and wife Sara, Drummond; Christopher Jaggers and wife Krysten, Melbourne, FL; Bryce Jaggers, Melbourne, FL; Devin Miller, Drummond; Ryon Diduik, Drummond; Cody Diduik, Drummond; Bailey Miller, Enid; Shelby McCormack, Colorado Springs, CO; Brittney Miller, Edmond; Sierra Miller, Drummond; Amanda Jaggers, Las Vegas, NV; Tanner McCormack; Colorado Springs, CO; and Samuel McCormack, Colorado Springs, CO. , Great grandchildren Kylie Schadler, Enid; Easton Miller, Drummond; Cole Miller, Drummond; and Skylar Miller, Enid. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Norma was preceded in death by her mother Minnie Mabel Baugher; her father, Kenneth Baugher; and brother Mick Baugher.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made in Norma's name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer’s or the United Church of Christ with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made online at www.ladusauevans.com.
