5 Things You Should Do This Week

It's time for the Enid Buzz 5 Things. We'll post 5 things you really should try to do each week. If you've ever said there's nothing to do in Enid, we challenge you to try and participate in at least 3 of the 5 suggestions each week.

Some events and activities will be free while others are going to cost you a bit. We'll try to make it so you won't have to break the bank to be a part of the fun. Get out of your comfort zone and off of your patootie!

WEEK - May 2 - May 8

1.) FIRST FRIDAY JAZZ STROLL - Friday, May 6 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. May First Friday is JAZZ STROLL, which features local and regional jazz bands that perform throughout downtown Enid. There will be food trucks on Broadway, shopping around the square and good old fashioned fun!

2.) TRI-STATE PARADE & GRAND CONCERT - Friday, May 6 at 6:00 pm. The Million Dollar Parade will take place at 6:00pm in conjunction with Main Street Enid’s First Friday. After Friday night’s parade around the square there will a Grand Concert at Enid Convention Hall at 8:00pm. The Grand Concert costs $3.00 per person. The carnival is set up at Oakwood Mall though Sunday.

3.) GASLIGHT CALENDAR GIRLS - Friday - Saturday, May 6 - 7 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 8 at 2:00 pm ($10 show). Based on a heart-warming true story, which became a world-wide sensation, with the women’s group calendar out-selling even those of Britney Spears and Cindy Crawford. Contains language and situations not suitable for all audiences. Ticket prices Adult: $15, Military $11 (must show ID), Student $7, Group discount (10 or more) $10. Also showing May 12-14.

4.) BE FIT KIDS BUZZ RUN - Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 am. CDSA will host the sixth annual run to encourage kids to be active and stay active. Children from 2-years old through fifth grade can participate. 50 yard and 100 yard dashes in different age categories. Registration is $10 and includes t-shirt, runner's number, medal and participation in the health and fitness festival on the track's infield. Register at 9 am the morning of the run.

5.) BUTTERFLY INVASION - Saturday, May 7 from 11:00am - 1:00 pm. Create butterfly art, enjoy live music, take butterfly photos, catch butterflies during the (pretend) butterfly release around 12:30. Park on the South side of Downtown Kitchen Store, then enjoy a fun, free, creative celebration of beautiful public art and butterflies! At the butterfly mural, 323 S Grand.
