ENID, OK - City of Enid Mayor Shewey announced today the 2018 Walk of Fame ceremony will be held Saturday, September 15th at 9:00 am and will honor three individuals that have made a lifetime of service to our community.

According to Mayor Shewey, “This year’s three inductees have made significant contributions in their areas of expertise. Each inductee in their own personal way has made a world-wide impact and brought recognition to Enid.” Shewey added, “The three inductees are a great compliment to our previous thirty-eight Enid Walk of Fame members.”

The ceremony will take place in the Walk of Fame lobby located in the Central National Bank Center convention hall at 301 S. Independence Avenue. The new Walk of Fame location was established in 2016 and is complimented with attractive bronze plaques for each honoree.

Shewey said, “the Enid community is invited to honor the 2018 Walk of Fame members Leona Mitchell, Don Haskins, and Brud Baker by attending this prestigious event on Saturday.” The event is part of the annual Cherokee Strip Days celebration.
