ENID, Okla. - It's rained a lot in Enid lately which normally makes it harder to get out and do things. That is, unless you're looking to get wet! Get outdoors and enjoy the wetness while you can.

I loved the summertime when it rained. We were free to go out and do just about anything we wanted. That was the time to get muddy, dirty and have fun. I noticed lots of puddles on the trail today plus tons of frogs and snails.

Here are some ideas of what to do in Enid when it rains: (if there's lightning, just stay inside)
-
1. Go to Boggy Creek and look for frogs and tadpoles. (Parents are required.)
-
2. Make some mudpies! There's plenty of mud in the yard. Grab an old swimming pool and fill it with mud!
-
3. Walk around Meadowlake or Government Springs and feed the ducks. (Only approved wild duck seed)
-
4. Put on galoshes and go to Champlin Park. Splash in every puddle you see!
-
5. Grab an umbrella and take a stroll on the Walking Trail. Take photos of cool flowers.
-
6. Find a cardboard box and make a fort on the front porch.
-
7. Build a paper boat, tie a string on it and go float it at Government Springs.
-
8. Take close up photos of flowers with raindrops on them.
-
9. Visit a coffee shop, grab a snack and watch the rain from out of the window.
-
10. Go play water kickball or soccer at the nearest park. Get wet!
-
11. Color the kids with washable colors and have them stand in the rain.
-
12. Get out the plastic waterslide. Hey, what's a little more water?
-
13. Set up a tent and bundle up inside. Tell ghost stories.
-
14. Look for worms! Go on a treasure hunt.
-
15. Put dish soap in a puddle and blow into it with a straw.
-
16. Have a water balloon fight.
-
17. Wash the dog... outside!
-
18. Wash the car, using only the rain.
-
19. Find a flowing creek and watch the water. Drop leaves in and watch them float.
-
20. Sprinkle paper (heavier construction paper works best here) with powdered paint or drops of food coloring, and take it out in the rain.
