ENID, OK - There's nothing quite as traditional for Thanksgiving as turkey and dressing. These two foods made the list of traditional Thanksgiving foods. A few that didn't make the list include cream peas, ham, squash casserole, Brussels sprouts, potato gratin and others.

Here is our list of 11 traditional foods for a true Thanksgiving dinner.
1. Turkey
Thanksgiving couldn't be Thanksgiving without a turkey. Turkeys are usually roasted for hours to get the most traditional flavors.
2. Stuffing/Dressing
Thanksgiving stuffing or dressing is the mix that goes inside the turkey. Many families also use it as a side dish. Traditionally, stuffing is made of bread and herbs.
3. Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are potatoes that have been boiled and peeled, and then crushed (mashed) into a soft and creamy dish. Add butter, milk and some garlic, and you have a perfect dish!
4. Gravy
Cooking the turkey creates delicious juices. These juices can be turned into a thick gravy. This sauce is usually poured onto the mashed potatoes to give them more flavor.
5. Cranberry Sauce
Cranberry sauce can be made by boiling cranberries with sugar, lemon zest (grated lemon peel) and water. Many people just by it canned these days.
6. Green Bean Casserole
Green bean casserole is made with cream of mushroom soup, fried onions and— of course—green beans!
7. Corn
Corn is very popular at Thanksgiving. Creamed corn and regular corn are made most often but some families serve corn on the cob.
8. Sweet Potatoes/Candied Yams
Sweet potatoes are yellow, creamy types of potatoes that are also called yams. You can bake them, make a casserole with them or mash them like regular potatoes. Or you can add spices, brown sugar and butter, place marshmallows on top and bake them into candied yams—a deliciously sweet dish.
9. Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie actually has pumpkin in it unlike many other pumpkin flavored fall items. The delicious warm spice and pumpkin filling inside a flaky crust makes for a great dessert.
10. Pecan Pie
Pecan pie uses pecans with spices and maple syrup. Pecan pie is one of the most popular holiday desserts.
11. Hot Rolls
Hot rolls soaked in butter round out a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
