I am looking for any information I can get on the Tackett Bros studio in Enid Oklahoma. It appears to have been on the northeast corner of the square around 1900 or so. I assume it is not longer in existence, but perhaps someone would know who took over their business. I am in search of old photos and I have seen their names on several old Oklahoma photos. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Does anyone have photo of the original pak a sak, the original building of lottaburger and also I remember in the 50s as a child my parents taking us to a rootbeer place out North on Grand think it was called Webers—they had a miniture golf course there too—it was there where Danny’s car lot is now–his back parking area–
and did not Danny’s use to be Brights Drive in–can remember going to it in the 60s when I got my license…

Where too can I find a picture of the old “dairyqueen type” places Enid had in the 60s and AW Rootbeer photo too. I am putting a book together for my Grandson of places I grew up know, his Dad hung out at too and then Enid during his growing up…also need picture of old Taco Tico building if anyone has it as his Dad worked there as a teenager.
    thanks

I am looking for a vintage photo of Thorpe’s retail store in about 1964 to 1971. My dad was John Thorpe. He & my mother owned the store that was next to Cold iron’s Thorpe’s. They sold gifts, greeting cards, office supplies, wedding gifts. I would love a picture of the store.

How about a pictures of the iron works, Bond Bread, Harrison school, St Marys hospital (where I was born), Vance AFB, Weathers & Mackey service station, Majors market(1955-57). Kress 5&10 on the square. Moved to Ca 1959, so I do not remember a lot of the landmarks.

Thanks for sharing these memories of Enid. I was told by a couple of people (one was retired USAF) that there was a brief period when training in the T-41 Mescalero (a Cessna 172) was done at Woodring. I believe that you had an old pic of a T-41 parked at Woodring displayed on your website some time ago. Would like to find out the time period when this took place if possible. Thanks and keep the old memories alive!
